Re: Project Scim....

The transporter hire was supposed to be £98 but they knocked it down to £70 because of the cock up! A couple of points, check the strops before you use them. They are a pain to use in general and I didn't notice that one was a bit to caught up to start with, so by the time I got it on and off the ca...

Project Scim....

I've had an a bit of a Scimitar craving for quite a long time, not sure why as most of them I came across were largely sat rotting on peoples driveways and around the back of run down blocks of garages, I guess I just found them strangely appealing... Last weekend I picked this up, its a 79 SE6A, ha...

Re: Luckless ebaying....

I like eBay, it serves me well, but the number of people who ask dumbass questions about an item then have a moan about their subsequent public humiliation is growing by the week! So, what's your best price? Discount for cash? As it Turbo? Will you deliver to New Zealand? Can I have your bank detai...

Luckless ebaying....

More often than is healthy I find myself perusing the Classic section of Ebay, convinced I will find my next project or runner at a bargain price. So far over the last two years I have bought two daily drivers (bangernomics, sort of!) but they both came out of auto trader. Also I have been looking a...

Re: 85 528i and some previous sheds...

I've been running an E28 (520i) for a couple of years and have concluded that they're far rarer than my "everyday" Rover P6. Does yours have the usual splits to the dash top? And rusty bumpers? And faulty instrument panel? Splits in the dash top? Sadly yes. Rusty bumper, yes to match the rusty bits...

Re: Another lost soul!

Thanks chaps! The K8 engine, would that be the tiny 1.8 V6? My MX3 was bought as a cheap run about, so I opted for the boring 4 cylinder one. Mind you, you would be lucky to find any MX3s they are getting a bit rare!

85 528i and some previous sheds...

Have you ever bought a car as an almost act of desperation? A few years back I picked up a VW Golf 1.6 Drivel for pennies, I needed wheels and my previous pride and joy had expired. I hated the Golf it was dull, tedious, slow and rattly but it served a purpose, after a few months of ownership I star...

Another lost soul!

Hello, I'm not very good at these intro posts.... ....Anyway, I thought I would sign up as there seem to be a fair few like minded people here, plus over the last couple of years I have been slowly converted to Practical classics. My real name is Steve, I live in Hampshire and currently I have an 85...
