Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Citroen, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

Zel, I don't think I've ever come across a low-pressure carburettor (SU) set-up fitted with a return to tank pipe.... SU's in later years were often installed contrary to the companies recommendations..... I have, somewhere, an SU "bible" from the 1960's where it states that the maximum float chambe...

Re: Is this forum still of use?

Good to see it back - Welcome  I had been pondering on what had happened as all I ever got was an error 500 message - which I knew wasn't something I could do anything about, as a mere user... I just kept the link on my taskbar and checked about once a month to see if it had been repaired!! ...

Re: breakdown truck

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/671174997481668/?ref=facebook_story_share I never knew these existed Ahh, the PK Jimp.... There's a few of these about although not too many were built. Based on a galvanised Reliant Kitten chassis with alloy bodywork they were really too heavy for the body...

Re: breakdown truck

Publicity picture of the time found on Google images. http://www.23hq.com/23666/86968507_d945dbb0bc898702126ff5e346c3954a_standard.jpg As far as I know only the one was built, along with smaller, similar version based on the 1100/1300 platform. For whatever reason, BMC declined to produce any! The s...

Re: breakdown truck

Sorry GHT, it is an 1800. This is a model of the Pininfarina proposed restyle on the land crab platform. As far as I know the original does still exist.....

Pretty sure I've got one of these models somewhere.

Re: recommendations for a compressor

I bought a Burisch compressor about 5 years ago and can thoroughly recommend them. It's a 3kw 100l one, 14cfm.

It's predecessor, from Machine Mart, only lasted 4 years and tbh was knackered at 3......

Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Jag, Citroen, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

One suspects that it was (is) an anti-diesel valve, used to stop the engine running on when the ignition is turned off, and, rather than add a 5v supply to it, whoever fitted the carb just removed the guts.... Seen this bodge before (and it doesn't work!) as these valves are a common fitment on Webe...

Re: breakdown truck

Any advice? Really? OK, here goes: It's been off the road since 2009, the stated odometer reading in the ad would equate to around 53000 miles yet the last test certificate showed 70 odd thousand, but that said, I have a few speedometers for these and I've yet to sell one to somebody who wanted to ...

Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Jag, Citroen, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

That switch is a heated rear screen switch for a Reliant Robin/Kitten/Fox. The fan switch on these doesn't have a light, just a fan symbol... Its the lower right hand one in the picture. Also used on early Metros and later (up to 1995 Reliant Rialto's and Robin mark 2's The later ones are 2-position...
