Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Citroen, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70
Great stuff, I love a P6. Only ever owned one, and that was a lesser 2200 TC but I loved it. Sadly despite being the smaller engined job it still wasn't good for much above 20 miles to the gallon and as I was a poorly paid British Rail worker, getting married, and taking on a mortgage at Interest ra...

Naughty Rich... scrapping a vintage cart and engine lol, prob be worth something these days. So, where was I .. engine and a carb sorted, wheels on etc and she was looking more like a real bike again. I made up a wiring loom which to be fair is little more than 4 wires or so, got to love simplicity,...

Re: Arceyes Stuff.....
Cheers Chaps, just a quick line today cos I'm struggling to find time at the mo but........ I sourced the engine while waiting for the bike to get down to me, its an ebay special and actually cost a little more than the bike but thats the way of these things. Its surprising though that its easier an...

Re: Arceyes Stuff.....
Soooo..... lots of scraping and sanding later I started painting and reassembling, lots of new bolts of the correct size and pitch were used, paint was a coach enamel which even though brushed went on really nice, on the downside I'm going to have to attend to some areas again when my next project i...

Re: Arceyes Stuff.....
Cheers Rich :D Anyway, life, lockdowns and all manner of troubles saw the bike stuck in Caithness until spring of 2021 when it finally arrived outside our house on a trailer with my Son, his fiancee and our first Grandchild attached.. So I pulled it apart https://i.postimg.cc/DfMS7qwP/DSC05788.jpg h...

Re: Hyundai diesel
Most likely passing the piston rings Rich, either worn rings or overfueling / faulty injector. The only other thing that could be suspect to my mind is the fuel pump if it has a direct passageway by which fuel leaking from a worn seal could enter the crankcase? but I don't know the Hyundai engine. F...

Re: Arceyes Stuff.....
Ok, I've been having a look and don't have many photos from the resto of the James, but do have one or two and can tell its tale also so I'll make a quick start and then come back with more as and when I get a chance. So, from archive records the bike was originally supplied new in 1955 to Parkhurst...

Re: Arceyes Stuff.....
That bike is amazing - talk about brought back from the brink! I'd love to see more pics of the resto and hear the full story, where did you get the bits for example? Is that an early Villiers engine? I vaguely remember that James used Villiers, amongst a number of other manufacturers of the time. ...

Re: Arceyes Stuff.....
So besides the Merc I currently have two motorbikes to help keep me occupied, The first is a little 1955 98cc James Comet. It started Life in the South of England but somehow made its way up to the Scottish Highlands in the 60's where it then ended up in a shed for many years, this is how I got it, ...
