Re: whats the most stupid MOT failure you have been refused

Ay up! My first car (Citroen BX 14E) failed its test once because of a non-working handbrake. The pillock was testing the rear wheels, despite their being a lack of any handbrake mech on them. When I pointed out the cables to the fronts, he said he thought they were "summat to do wi' t'bleed system!...

Love the sticker on the taupe Minor.

Saw a burnt orange MGBGT this AM - lovely nick, sounded pretty good. Out in the rain too! :o

Re: Meet Fifi VII

Ay up! Thanks, lads. Plan K is this: remove the entire hub assembly from car, clamp in girt big vice and attack with air impact gun. Then drive pin out with air hammer. If the air hammer fails, there is a 10 ton press in the workshop (let's see the bugger resist that! ) or even a brazing h...

Meet Fifi VII

Ay up! Before anyone suggests otherwise I am not a masochist, just mad. But then I like Citroens. 2 of the 6 BXs I have owned never made it to the road but merely supplied parts. However, Fifi VII for your delectation: S7300085 mod.jpg If there is any car that's going to get dented in a car park, yo...

Re: What classic vehicles have you seen?

Ay up!

A couple of old PC project cars in the area.

John Simpson's Rover P4 is regularly seen along with a Mk2 Jag RPA 247.

Also saw a Daimler saloon with V8 - very tatty and burning a lot of oil but sounding good nonetheless.

Ay up! I'm Xantia-nut but my real name's Nigel and I own a Citroen Xantia 1.8 LX. Yup, the poverty spec model. She's up in the air right now at a training centre I volunteer at while I swing big hammers at the o/s/f brake. I hope she'll be back on the road very quickly. I do like my little French bi...

Citroen Brake Woes

Ay up! Greetings from a newbie! I have a problem with my 1993 Citroen Xantia. The o/s/f brake caliper has seized and is in need of replacement. Problem is, the caliper, carrier bracket, securing pin and retaining bolts halve all rusted into a single piece of metal to all intents and purposes. Severa...
