Re: What classic vehicles have you seen?

Oh, and millions and millions of those bloody middle class pretend surf dude Jamie Oliver VW bus things. They get a wave from the Ami too, being fellow air cooled travellers, but the drivers always seem to be a bit too far up their own arses to wave back. Tossers. :)

Re: What classic vehicles have you seen?

I've seen a few recently. A series 1 E type in red on the M1 on Monday (I was on the way home from Northumberland in the Ami), then on the same journey on the M42, a white V12 E type on a trailer. Then on Tuesday I saw a yellow Spitfire in Hereford and a Triumph Herald convertible in Ross on Wye. Th...

Re: What classic vehicles have you seen?

I've seen hundreds of "Jamie Oliver" VW campers recently. I thought these things were supposed to be rare. :)

How many left?

Interesting site ... Only 17 Citroen Ami 6's on the road, apparently. No wonder no one knows what it is. :)

Re: What classic vehicles have you seen?

That bonnet reminds me of one of these ;) http://www.rapha.cc/content/uploads/hvanpic.jpg I used to have one of those! Mine was a lot bigger (and rustier) though ... http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a302/RhythmThief2/frontthreequarterview.jpg It also featured one of the worst bodges I've ever seen...

Re: What classic vehicles have you seen?

I went to the Forest of Dean yesterday and spotted this AC 2 Litre roadster. http://www.nelsoncycles.co.uk/Pictures/Car%20Pics/AC%202%20Litre.JPG A gaggle went past the shop today (XK 150, MGB - may have been a C but I was dealing with the Interlink collection, so I didn't see all of them) and late...

Re: Introductions

Crikey, there's a lot of familiar names here... Hello. I'm Ian, one time writer on Classic Car Weekly (where I had to put up with those strange folks on PC) and now a penniless freelancer. Despite my signature, I'm not a classic car trader - I just change cars a lot. Except for the 2CV. Which someh...

Re: Thoughts on old cars with new engines

I fitted a later 2CV engine and gearbox into my 1966 Citroen Ami. Mostly because the old gearbox sounded like a tumble drier full of broken glass and the old engine was siezed. I could (had I been dedicated enough) probably have found an original M4 engine, but who needs to be changing the oil every...

I'm not normally a fan of the tabloids, but I heard on Radio 4 news last night that today's Mirror headline is "Naming Private Ryan". Brilliant. :D

... not that I give a f**k who he's been shagging, especially if it's some nonebrity off Big Brother.
