Re: Led bulbs
I've only tried LED headlight bulbs. My SLK had standard H1 halogen so I replaced them with LED. They were ok and definitely better than the halogen, but I then tried 35W HID that were better still. I will be replacing the indicator bulbs soon as the colour has fallen off them, and I will be trying ...

Re: Is this forum still of use?
I think with only 183 registered users this forum is going to have little dynamism to attract more users. Sad really as I actively avoid Facebook and all other social media sites. Hmm, not sure where you get that number from, we have 1897 registered members and after the amount of cleaning up I've ...

Re: A Series engine numbers.
It's a bit naughty, but why don't you just use the same number from the existing engine? That way you could swap them on demand and no one will care?

Re: Mercedes R170 SLK230
Does this tickle your fancy? https://www.leboncoin.fr/voitures/2087194472.htm Hmm, I suspect that car has been molested a bit. It has headlamp wipers but no washer jets and no bumper overiders. It also appears to be being advertised as a series 2 car, but all series 2 cars had plastic bumpers. As i...

Re: Introductions
Oops, missed this. Having posted in other areas I'm a bit late here. Don't be worrying about that, very few of us seem to post in this section. My name is Tony and I like cars... Sadly, there's currently no 12 step programme available to those of us who live with this catastrophic dependency, so th...

Re: Introductions
Oops, missed this. Having posted in other areas I'm a bit late here. My name is Tony and I like cars, well old cars. I currently own a 1999 SLK230 which has been in various states of decay since I bought it in 2016. Previously I've had a plethora of Opels, Vauxhalls, BMW's, Mercedes, a couple of Tri...

Re: Mercedes R170 SLK230
What sort of pre/ post war car are you after?? No idea actually. I just fancy a little sit up and beg thing. I used to like retro fitting different engines in to cars, but with all the regulation these days the politics is making it a chore. I have my daily driver (a modern), and my SLK for the sum...
