Re: Morris 10M
I agree. It is a fairly simple system, having said that.

Re: Exhaust
I had always been a bit sceptical about the exhaust on this car. It seems a bit low slung, and once I had started driving, the note had become a bit splashy, although it was only very noticeable when starting up in the garage. The week before last, however, it seemed particularly bad. I rolled aroun...

Re: Morris 10M
The speedo cable turned up okay. It had a small alloy pellet on the gearbox end, which plugged neatly, to my relief, into the receiver and then, after fiddling around to get a good route back into the car, I plugged it back into the speedo, fired up and went for a drive., Much to my relief, the need...

Re: Morris 10M
Yes, I am very pleased with it. I have been notified that the speedo cable is on its way, so hopefully it will come for the weekend. A couple of other bits are also hopefully winging their way towards me, including a new rubber grommet for the fuel filler where it comes through the rear wing. I have...

Re: The Speedo
Thanks for the good wishes, and now....ah yes, the speedometer. Of course although you can theoretically pass an MOT without it working, because the MOT men have no means to test it....well mine still didn't work, even after making sure that the cable was plugged in at the back and everything.... so...

Re: Morris 10M
Thanks for the comments. There are still a few details to sort out yet, and so the thread will survive as a resto thread for a little while longer. The weather has been lousy, so not much more opportunity for a drive, but I did order some new window seals for the rear window, the existing rubbers fo...

Re: Morris 10M
I haven’t been on for a while. Events at home and work took me out for the late summer and part of the Autumn, but I have managed to get back into things again. Firstly the interior. On my last post I had refettled the dashboard and got everything working again and was starting to have thoughts abou...

Re: Morris 10M Dashboard
Here are a couple of pictures of the dash stripped out. Original colour was a strange sort of gold painted finish, which I haven't seen replicated on any photographs of similar cars. Most seem to get painted black, so maybe the gold is something that a previous owner has done. Instruments have clean...

Re: Morris 10M
Back again. A bad back and then work pressure have kept me off here for a few months, but the project hasn't all been at a standstill. Attention has now gone to the interior, mainly the upholstery. The front seats were in a poor state, the material worn through to the backing (not leather but someth...

Ignition!
Well, it has taken all this time for a maiden run. I realised when I set the ignition timing again, that the distributor was somewhat out of kilter from its original position with TDC on number 1 cylinder. This, since the camshaft and drive had not been disturbed, should not have been the case, and ...
