Re: ford galaxy

Mazda 6 Had a Mazda 6 saloon as a company car a few years ago and it was pretty damn good, for a modern - worth a look Wild card - Saab 95 estate? Had two, loved them. Larkin

Larkins latest piece got me thinking about my own preference of classic- why do we choose what we do? What drives us? My perchant is for a car I've never owned, a MKII Capri. Let me explain: Growing up in the '70s with a Dad having Cortinas you'd think I'd be into them. Best mates Dad was Sales Mana...

Re: ford galaxy

Mine always used coolant - never did find out where. If its the VW engine change the thermostat at the same time as the waterpump - I didnt and it cost me £1.2k to get the dammed thing back on the road. Mazda update - 6 months on and totally reliable - quick, comfortable and copes with my kids too. ...

Re: ford galaxy

Update- Its gone - Ive had enough. It cost me £100 to get the dammned thing through the MOT with a long, and potentially expensive, advisory that included play developing in both lower ball joints, (again), both front shocks and mountings, a cv boot on the way out etc etc. Add to that the clutch was...

Re: RIP Jon Lord

I was lucky enough to have seen him perform live both with the mighty 'Snake and in one of the Deep Purple re-incarnations in the late 80's prior to Blackmore walking out.

Sadly the greatest blues guitarist ever, IMHO, Gary Moore also died a few months back - not a great year so far then!!

Re: These Tracker things for cars

Not a bad idea but I wolud first consider a Thatcham Cat II Imboliser - that should stop it being started in the first place and there not expensive- you should be able to get on proffesionally fitted for less than £100. And your insurance company may even give you a discount for having it fitted. G...

Re: ford galaxy

Its always been my understanding that Ford did final assembly with the majority of parts supplied by VAG. Contrary to popular belief it was Ford who ended the relationship due to issues with the quality of both the bodys being shipped and parts supply - from various forums it would seem that the sam...

You could also try knocking on a few near by doors - most people are quite approachable.

Re: ford galaxy

Interesting - our has been a complete disaster and the least relaible car I've ever owned - To date, at 120k miles and two and a half years ownership: Wipers siezed up - striped and freed off the linkages - you dont want to have to buy a wiper rack Most of front suspension replaced - drop links, tra...
