Mag subscriptions
Going to live up to my name with this one! For economic reasons I decided that 2012 would be the year I would end all my mag subscriptions (5in total) and just buy the editions I actually found useful. Over the last month I probably had around 20 emails offering reduced rates of each of the various ...

Re: MOT happy or sad?
I'm in the 'keep the MOT' camp too, my spitfire passed yesterday. Been going to the same place for about 10 years, the chap who runs the place always has some tale about when he was young and went on holiday with his fancy woman in a ......... (usually what ever car I take. He's a sensible type, I h...

Re: Coolant not circulating ('74 Midget 1275)
I had something similar with the spitfire eventually traced to an air lock in the pump. I cured it bu back filling the system using a funnel through the heater pipe
Took 3 weeks to figure it out though

Re: Fuel tank protection
If its a galvanised tank then do nothing. If its not then paint ir with black wax oil underseal. Dries to a nice satin finish but does take a while to dry and is messy to handle. Best to paint the top, fit the tank then paint the rest.

Re: Help !! Head gasket failure - temporary solution??
The egg trick works as a get you home remedy but doing a proper job after is very very smelly. I have used KSeal twice with great success, once to fix a weaping rad and once to 'fix' a head gasket. Worked on both occasions although the engine temp did increase slightly as shown on the gauge. It's to...
