Re: V6 into a RHD Chrysler Neon mk1(SHE LIVES!!! only just!)

John, I put them in my Astra. Besides, my Dolomite has the 1850HL loom so there's no night dimming relay anyway.

Sorry for going off topic!

What type of bulb does the instrument cluster use? Also, there are different arrangements on the bulbs. You can get a frosted bulb which gives a more even spread of light. There's the bulbs with several SMDs on the surface. These mimic the original style bulbs but with samller bulbs you only have a ...

Kev, I saw that car when I was walking the dog but I couldn't take a photo. The car is a Humber Super Snipe, registration GSF290D. It looks to be in similar condition to your's and is in regular use. If I didn't have my hands full I would've taken a photo.

Re: 1965 singer vogue recomission

The best way of giving the car good shakedown is to use it daily for at least a week. Any problems will then manifest themselves. The Borg Warner boxes were good in their day. Which box does your car have? I suspect that you may have the BW35 which is what most 60s BW equipped cars have. My Dolomite...

Re: 1965 singer vogue recomission

Good to see it road legal once again. I've seen a similar car near to where I live (I've seen it go past my house a couple of times when I take the dog out first thing in the morning). I think is the Humber version. I know that the Rootes Group did badge engineering. The next time I see it, I'll get...

Re: Early Javelin Restoration

Chris, I'm sure that you'll know a certain fellow Jowett owner from Leeds by the name of Steve (I know him through the Triumph Dolomite Club). I mentioned this thread to him and he seemed to know who you might be. He's also got a pre-War Austin. Like the Jowett, I was Bradford born and was working i...

Re: 1965 singer vogue recomission

You are right in that the regular oil changes are flushing the engine. This is the best way of doing it. I'd recommend a decent brand of oil especially the Millers classic 20w50. I've just done the oil change on my Dolomte and I used the Millers. A local motor factor sells it for just shy of £20 and...

Re: Oil

You're right about regular oil changes. Most modern cars will be fine with a decent brand of semi-synthetic. Millers Trident 10w40 semi-synth is one I'd recommend for your MX5. I've used the stuff in my Astra and a local motor factor sells it for only £18. Well worth every penny.

You can't compare Tim Shaw to Mike Brewer. Tim's nothing comapred to what he was like in some of his previous radio presenter jobs.

Re: You knowthat bad feeling you get when seeing a car!

The Astra H was the one that was the Saturn such as this one. http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n227/ToledoMan/Ireland1.jpg This particular car was the one I hired on my first visit to Dublin hence it being Opel badged and on Irish plates. I saw your other thread about looking for a stereo. I would...
