Hello all,
Phil has been quiet because he's been rather unwell lately, having suffered a stroke at the start of the year, but he's working on getting back to good health and popped in at the workshop last week.
We'll go easy on him, if we get to make a fourth series of Car SOS

Re: Car SOS
Can I ask Fuzz....did it blow it's head gasket at the MoT station? Seemed to be an awful lot of steam coming out of that tail-pipe, yet the radiator needed replacing to cure it? Yeah, it looked that way. We replaced the rad' but then it it had to be sent away to a Cosworth specialist for further wo...

Re: Car SOS
The Beetle hid its rot well, but I think that we found it all.
It was the first car that we did and I'm sure we all look younger and psychologically sound.

Re: Car SOS
Have just finished watching the jeep on Sky+. That came out rather well :) Hopefully the series will get some more people interested in running older cars and our hobby will carry on for another generation. With the benefit of a new tub did this take as many hours as the Fiat? Hi Terry, What we gai...

Re: Car SOS
No offence taken, Terry. I'm happy to let folks know how many hours to expect a professional outfit to take on a basic, but thorough recommission. It should also aid calculating the time that it would take to do a similar job without full facilities to hand - I estimate roughly 2-3 times the amount ...

Re: Car SOS
Guys. If you want in depth resto' techniques then perhaps that ought to be a new Practical Classics online vid' series. I'd be happy to start that idea up. But when it comes to Car SOS, we wanted to make a show that the whole family could watch, without dissent from peeved partners. The cars are not...

Re: Car SOS
We had a budget of around £11.5k to cover all parts and including 193.4 labour hours at a rate of £30ph, but that no car in the series took less than 400 labour hours, with a peak on one vehicle of in excess of 550 hours. Thus many of the hours spent working on the cars were unpaid, but as a rule of...
