Re: Supplementary fans

I think Terry's got a point there.

I'd also like to remind folks that unleaded burns hotter than leaded did, meaning operating temperatures can rise beyond original expectations. And if all engines are designed with adequate cooling, supplementary fans would never have been invented ;)

Re: The Car Insurance Racket

The Russian Meerkat Insurance Service is unlikely to offer you a number as they're just a search engine for other people's products, and doing it all via the interwebs is how they reduce overheads to make money on their commissions.

Re: Anyone with Footman James?

I am but as they have added £100 to my renewal this year (yes, £100!) i won't be for much longer. Is that all? They wanted nearly a third more from me, with an increase of over £250 - and that's with old accidents & points timing out/coming off my record! I switched to Peter James & I ended up payi...

It has the right radiator, it's been extensively flushed & refilled accurately recently by my local classic-friendly garage (who're still washing away the detritus that came out!), and the fan appears to be fun...

Re: The Car Insurance Racket

Very much what Willy said; I always thought that TPFT was going to be saving me money as it saved them liability, but for what I was driving they were never likely to be paying me out much anyway. One friendly broker suggested we check things the other way and bam, 20% saving that year. I think it's...

Supplementary fans

My cars run at a good temperature 90% of the time, as even with modern traffic I can usually keep moving enough to maintain airflow and on those occasions I can't, the stock fan tends to keep up. However, sometimes (such as the Thursday prior to the NEC) I get stuck in some of the gnarliest London g...

Re: fancy this chaps?

In order to justify the prices, aren't they all required to have MoT equivalents when sold though? I mean, that Granada is never going to pass a test in that state.
