Re: Change Coil or junk ballast system?

Thanks for the advice - bypassed the ballast resistor and things seem much better.

Re: Change Coil or junk ballast system?

Cheers - it's a 4.7 V8 (AMC) - but I almost never start it in winter, and when I do it seems to start fine so not too worried about cold starts. Also not my daily car so no need to worry about getting to work etc if it won't start. I already have a contactless (electronic) dizzy bought off a mate fo...

Change Coil or junk ballast system?

I am working my way through some of the previous owners (or maybe ones before) "updates" to my car. It's fitted with a resistance wire in the ignition feed (the pretty common ballast arrangement) to step down the voltage during running to about 7 volts (as measured by me on a multimeter). I checked ...

Pitman arm rebuild

I have a Pitman arm with a balljoint on the business end that is worn out. The part is so rare as to be made from unobtainium - but others must need these kinds of things rebuilt or remanufactured. Re: Nitrile / Latex Gloves

Thanks all - especially Dave - I'd actually forgotten that I'd wanted some of those gloves I saw Ed China using since I first saw 'em. Ordered a pack.

Nitrile / Latex Gloves

I've been using Bodyguards Blue nitrile gloves bought from my local Motor Factors for ages, but they tear so easily I generally end up using two pairs at once, which is getting expensive. I like the hand protection and not having filthy nails - has anyone found any more durable ones?

Re: V5's and VINs for sale.

I have reported multiple obviously illegal listings and had so many ignored I've almost given up. I suspect (but can't prove) that items are less likely to get removed when there are significant bids on them - no doubt this would be strongly denied. The most recent example I (and several others) rep...
