Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Citroen, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

It's a Polo of a certain age under all of the commercial and WAV stuff, so surely there's only one thing that can be done to recolour the vehicle in a marque appropriate way:

Go on, you know it makes sense! 8-)

Re: radio id

Looks more like post 1958 to me and all transistor, unless the vibrator and its associated AC components are in a separate box that's unseen in the image. Some car valve sets were still in use by then, but mostly with a solid state rectifier and LT filaments, B7G fitting such as d*96 tubes as found ...

I do love a good road trip to buy a car! Hope this goes well, you should be nicely on the way just now.
I would try to "guess" what you're buying but Autoshite failed to provide a clue. ;)
Is it a Saab of some sort? Mmm, Saab,

Re: What would you buy & why?

Rich, You know I'm a sucker for a first generation Prairie, they're pretty much the right shape and the extremely scarce automatic ones aren't too bad at all.... But, like many Japanese cars of their era, prices (I hesitate to say "value," because it may not be to some folk) tend to be in silly mone...

Re: What would you buy & why?

How do you feel about the 2000 3.8 mustang convertible??  Much the same as a turkey feels about the Christmas, but thanks for the suggestion. I'm looking at uk market Yaris versos, must be the earlier, uglier one with an actual automatic gearbox and not the cvt model, which are probabl...

At this rate, you'll have as many cars as Ian Seabrook by the end of spring! Please tell us that you're adding something suitably bonkers to the fleet!

Re: What would you buy & why?

That's a bit of a nuisance...what did the insurance company say?? They were fine about it. My NCD is unaffected too, as apparently I paid an extra tenner to protect it when I renewed my cars policy last year so, although the Disco is on a fresh - single vehicle - policy of its own, cover fo...

Re: What would you buy & why?

Yeah, OK ish now, these small coachbuilt Toyotas are pretty strong, probably as a consequence of the tubular "spaceframe" style of construction. There's no danger of a rematch, Discovery versus coastal defences, because it's too tall to go under the barrier and it has yhe usual LR transmission brake...

Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Jag, Citroens, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

Pittodrie House Hotel you say. Lovely place, best remembered for being the first local venue, during my failed attempt to return to the dark, oh ever so dark, North East, whose bar served Sheridan's. Awful stuff, far too pleasant and easy to imbibe recklessly yet intriguingly weird what with its tr...
