Re: Newbie....

Hello & welcome to our world. You'll find this board a useful source of car-related information, technical content and cheap digs at the dodgy crap we see all too often on eBay these days. Please can we see images of the 1600E? I can't be the only one around here who hasn't seen a decent MK2 in ages...

Re: Yet another "what should I buy next?" type of thread..

Ooh! That Nissan deserves its six dribblers right enough, but rare as it is - though definitely not the only one in the UK as the vendor erroneously states - I'd sooner go for an alternative which could be supplied with parts that are easily obtainable through a large network of dealers who don't so...

Re: Yet another "what should I buy next?" type of thread..

    I like the way in which eBay selects "similar" items these days! Once upon a long ago, they'd simply supply a page to tell the eager Allegrophile that the car of their wildest dreams was no longer available but now, they appear to employ someone to select the c...

     I remembered the Pilot from Street Machine's feature and, in spite of orange being the world's best colour, I reckon it looks even better in that blue. Bloody gorgeous car, superbly updated yet keeping a fairly original outward appearance. Love it! Then we hav...

Re: Yet another "what should I buy next?" type of thread..

Hmm, please tell me more. Main points are: Is it an automatic, I know it most likely will be but a manual's of little use to me so this matters. Is it a TTT? I wouldn't necessarily turn down a Ford engined one if it were in good condition and indeed, a Reliant badge would be a plus point so in that ...

Re: Yet another "what should I buy next?" type of thread..

I'm very fond of the "traditional" (Hydropneumatic) Citroens. Like most folk with an engineering background; their apparent complexity intrigues, rather than scares me and besides, the hydraulics are so much more user friendly than BL's Hydragas which, IMHO, ought to have come from the factory with ...

Re: Datsun Bluebird 180B - Nikki carb fault?

Hi Ed, I'm toiling to find anything on the web about that type of carb, but as many downdraught devices with fixed jets are so similar in their basic way of working, I would tend to go looking for a physical obstruction - possibly a very tiny lump of debris that came with that fill of fuel - in the ...

Re: Yet another "what should I buy next?" type of thread..

Liking the small Honda      , as for that Datsun; I'm now wishing that I'd kept that Minor shell as [the Sunny's] engine and box would have been the ideal donor units for the once considered Minor auto conversion. Harsh? Well call me suspicious if you will, but giv...

Re: New Videos from SpaceKadett restoring a Daihatsu Charade 1L Turbo Diesel

Nice work, it's always good to see someone putting this high standard of workmanship into a car that's yet to achieve the universal appeal - and higher resale asking prices - of the equivalent European cars from the era. You can't have too much Japanese content in an old car forum, IMHO, and these t...

Re: I doubt this is a classic ... yet ..

Modern cars eh, great when they're working, harder to fix with gaffer tape and epoxy resin when they're not!
Is that a crack under the manifold stud in the image or a change in level around the area where the stud hole is?
