Re: breakdown truck

If only! That said, a Shadow with lots of mechanical faults but decent bodywork can be had for less than the cost of a double measure of post-lockdown, 70 proof Pussar's rum and I do occasionally have a dream in which I'm at an auction and am instructed by "voices" to put my hand in the air when a l...

Re: breakdown truck

I believe that the ideal alternative engine for a Rolls Royce must be a two stroke Detroit Diesel, noisier and smokier the better, what-ho.

Re: Tractor please...

Neither, I should have the car back in service by then - now that ATS have at last agreed to pay a local person to come out and fix ATS' own cockup!
Liking the yellow tractor, these French know how to make even agricultural machinery look stylish.

Re: breakdown truck

 Rich, I've found an interesting breakdown truck on eBay, yes, I said "Breakdown Truck". Imagine a Transit with the least likely engine transplant ever, even though Transits have been fitted with a greater variety of alien engines than any other kind of van. Probably. https://www.ebay.co.uk...

Re: breakdown truck

Ooh. Liking that narrow quad bike thing, but surely 1500 Watts is only just over 2 bhp, so even though it only weighs 85Kg, it's not exactly going to be a fast thing. Nice idea though but, and I reckon there must be space in there for a real engine. Also, a quad is primarily about carrying...

Re: Tractor please...

Is that the beast that took the Halfords tent for a ride? Possibly, unless of course you're a Halfords management type, in which case it was a different van, mine was robbing a post office in a small town some 50 miles away at the time of the incident and they can't prove a thing. After all, one Hi...

Ill probably be burned as a witch but it suits the car mate.. i don't care if the purists hate it +1. 8-) Besides, is the current OED definition of the word "purist" not "N: a control freak with a God complex and, most probably, a dreadful case of halitosis, who dresses up as a Roman soldier on a w...

Re: Annoying whistle, 1992 Toyota HiAce engine..

I'm almost duty bound to post a clip of a TS3 going flat out up a hill since forum tradition dictates that we should gather to enjoy that distinctive howl, bettered only by the sound of a Deltic locomotive ( https://youtu.be/1DIY4FhRp4c ) pulling a train up an incline, but I reckon that as British 2...

Re: breakdown truck

I may well be wrong, but the structural add-on to the left side of the Trabant appears to have been welded continuously whereas, the right side looks like someone tacked the reinforcement pieces together and then ran out of either rods or gases. It looks strong enough in terms of the builder's use o...
