Re: Zel's Fleet Blog...Jag, Citroens, Mercedes, Sinclair & AC Model 70

Mmmm. Model 70 close up. Some day I'll find one. Some day. :D I've been watching a certain serial car hoarder and all round good chap's Invacar videos on YouTube in order to dodge the sodding football on the regular TV channels and seeing his Invacar badged example lapping Goodwood in the c...

Re: I'm back! Ford Anglia 106e (Estate)

Newly fabricated fuel tank finally arrived! Fits like a glove :)

My dad wanted to paint it, but we agreed on a clear coat instead to protect it, but show off the fabrication.

Could you get someone to collect the complete car?
I thought about that, but he says he's been offered $1000 for various parts off it already. Given it's up to its sills in mud, and it would cost another thousand easily to ship it, there is no way it is worth $2k to me.

Re: I'm back! Ford Anglia 106e (Estate)

Nice! I used to drive a tractor that the clutch would stick regularly... i always started it in reverse. Hope this is helpful ;) Thank you. Yep they have other things going on at the moment but they intend to drive it round the fields with the pedal down hoping getting the engine warm and adding lo...

Re: I'm back! Ford Anglia 106e (Estate)

Looks nice mate! Thank you! Not much to report lately. She is running and back together now, bar the fuel tank that is on order and getting the clutch freed up. We are hoping driving it around the field and getting the car good and warm will free it up, otherwise the box will have to be dr...

Re: I'm back! Ford Anglia 106e (Estate)

Take the old one and weld the new arm / float connection together? For the moment we are going to seal up the float, that is probably the easiest route. I think I need a new air filter: https://i.imgur.com/o84vjlh.jpg Interior is cleaned up. I was unaware that we had the original rubber carpet but ...

Float, could you modify a plastic one to fit?
Looking at that, but would need an arm too as it fits differently.

Float - you can try Morris Minor and Mini suppliers, they're fairly generic, but not quite like that one. Failing that, you could open up yours and fill it with cork?
Good tip, might try that!

Re: I'm back! Ford Anglia 106e (Estate)

Tow bar was removed over the weekend as the standard exhaust won;t fit with it on. I don't know what they did before as there was no exhaust system on it when we got the car but the hitch was rusty and ugly, so it's a win/win. Fuel pump is cleaned and rebuilt. https://i.imgur.com/bzB56Al.jpg Took th...
